London Police have laid charges in an early morning, New Year’s Day liquor store robbery that saw a vehicle driven through the front of an east-end LCBO.
Two men have been charged with “break and enter” and “possession of property obtained by crime,” stated a Saturday morning release from London police.
One of the men is identified as an 18-year-old London man and the other a 21-year-old of no fixed address.
The drive-in, smash and grab robbery at 6:20 a.m. Jan. 1 resulted in hundreds of thousands of dollars damage to the LCBO at Dundas Street and Clarke Road and “product” taken, stated the police media release.
“It’s unfortunate that so much damage was caused for what was in essence, a theft of only a handful of items,” said Detective Sergeant Ryan Scrivens. “We are pleased with the outpouring of information provided by members of our community.”
