It’s been a big old sticky mess. The shocking news that Sony and Disney had failed to reach agreement over future Spider-Man movies devastated fans. And not just fans, even some of the biggest Marvel stars joined in the outcry. However, Marvel boss Kevin Feige just released a statement with two pieces of hugely exciting news.
Kevin Feige said (via Variety): “I am thrilled that Spidey’s journey in the MCU will continue, and I and all of us at Marvel Studios are very excited that we get to keep working on it.
“Spider-Man is a powerful icon and hero whose story crosses all ages and audiences around the globe.
Pascal said: “This is terrific. Peter Parker’s story took a dramatic turn in Far From Home and I could not be happier we will all be working together as we see where his journey goes.”
Far From Home smashed expectations and took over $1billion at the global box office. Fans could not understand why such an important part of the MCU would suddenly be cut off following reports that Sony and Disney were deadlocked over finances and profit shares.
With the exits of Captain America and Iron Man, Spider-Man had been expected to form an integral part of the Avengers, especially since he has always been seen as Tony Stark’s protegee and ‘heir’ in the team. What will happen now with future Avengers movies?
