Thor: Love and Thunder is set for release next year and will see Taika Waititi return to the helm as director once again. In a new interview with, Vin Diesel dropped a spoiler, revealing the Guardians of the Galaxy would be making an appearance. “I am waiting and excited for my friend James Gunn to knock this next one out of the park,” he said.

“Thor will also – the director talked to me about how Thor will incorporate some of the Guardians of the Galaxy, which will be very interesting.”

Diesel knew he’d let something big slip, conceding the news wasn’t out in the world yet.

“Nobody knows,” he added. Maybe I shouldn’t have said anything.”

The end of Avengers: Endgame previously saw Thor team up with the Guardians seemingly for a new adventure.

The Norse God hopping aboard their ship looked to set up a joint mission for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.

Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn previously confirmed Thor: Love and Thunder comes before the third Guardians movie in the MCU timeline when he responded, as he regularly does, to a fan’s question in the comments on Instagram.

That in mind, it makes sense for the cast of Guardians to make an appearance in the next Thor film, as the last fans saw of them was the whole gang leaving Earth together.

The new Guardians of the Galaxy has been delayed significantly, with director Gunn squeezing production on The Suicide Squad in between finishing Endgame and starting work on the film.

The publication notes the Guardians might just play a small part Thor: Love and Thunder as the story will centre around Jane Foster (Natalie Portman) becoming Thor.

Thor and the Guardians’ send-off at the end of Endgame teased a fun, competitive dynamic between Star-Lord (played by Chris Pratt) and Thor (Chris Hemsworth).

The war for alpha male of the ship was teed up nicely as they bickered over who was in charge.
